A Celebration of Our Story
This anniversary is about more than marking 125 years.
It is an opportunity to honor the people, ministries, families, campers, volunteers, staff, and supporters who have helped shape Five Points Mission and Camp Olmsted across generations.
Throughout the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to reconnect with the Olmsted community, experience the history of the mission, enjoy the property, and celebrate the legacy that continues today.
The Olmsted Museum
For the celebration, our Dining Hall will be transformed into The Olmsted Museum.
Guests will be able to explore displays highlighting:
-
The history of Five Points Mission
-
The story and growth of Camp Olmsted
-
The development of our retreat ministry
-
Historic photographs and memories
-
The story of our historic bell
-
A look toward the future of Olmsted
The museum will help connect our past, present, and future in one place.
Ringing the Bell
One of the centerpieces of the celebration will be the unveiling of our historic 1887 bell.
For generations, bells have represented gathering, celebration, remembrance, and a call to action.
As we restore and ring this historic bell once again, it will serve as a symbol of the generations who came before us and the responsibility we carry to preserve and strengthen Camp Olmsted for those who will come after us.
Honoring the Legacy. Answering the Call.
Food, Fellowship & Celebration
The day will have the relaxed atmosphere of a community picnic and BBQ.
Guests will have time to enjoy food, fellowship, memories, activities, and the beautiful Camp Olmsted property while reconnecting with old friends and meeting others who share a connection to the mission.
Whether your connection to Olmsted began decades ago or just this past summer, you are part of the story we are celebrating.
Looking Toward the Next 125 Years
While this event celebrates our history, it also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
During the celebration, we will share some of the vision for the future of Camp Olmsted, including ideas for continued property improvements, expanded programming, retreat growth, and projects that can strengthen the mission for future generations.
The celebration will also help launch a year-long effort to invest in the future of Olmsted and preserve the property and programs entrusted to our care.
